Well, it's starting out to be a very CRAPPY Monday for me. Woke up feeling rather emotional and irritable (TOM), kept myself under control, and then got to work.
Back in June my dad gave my boss some of his retirement money to invest. My boss is licensed to do investments. By a fluke this morning we happened to check my dad's portfolio and found out my dad's money is more than half gone due to some of it being in a corporate bond with Lehman Bros. (who went bankrupt not too long ago.) I have a feeling my dad's money, not all but most, is gone.
Both my boss and I are sick about it and I have no idea how to tell my dad except to leave it to my boss to do.
Our world is really going through some challanging, scarey times right now. I feel sick to my stomach at the moment.
I could really use some prayers today.

Thanks so much MommieAnya0220. I can't imagine how many people will be affected by what's going on with this economey and the financial crisis. I found out this morning that the 4th largest bank in the world is now seeking bail out by another bank. This is crazy. I had no idea our nation was in such financial crisis. Just think about all of those people who are getting ready to retire... who are dependant upon their investments to take care of them.
Oh my.

Wachovia.. Yeah, just read tons on that too. I'm internally freaking about what this is going to do for my son and I when we have to be on our own, when I get into the job market. Or just his future. I'm such a worry wort, but everyone has to be worried about this mess.

Im sorry to hear your dad lost some money. He is not the only one, there are lots of us that have lost money already. Everyone needs to be concerned about this financial crisis and bail out. If you can't live on what you make per month, if you can't go one month without using a credit card...you could be in for a serious problem. This is going to effect everyone and the "bail out" is not going to keep it from being a major area of concern, if anything the bail out makes it even more important for everyone to control their spending and watch things closely

I used to work at Wachovia, and have been trying to go back. No wonder they aren't hiring. So sad. Things are really not good. I have been looking for jobs for several months now, b/c we just can't make ends meet anymore with me not working, but there just aren't any jobs here. I mean, I could work for min. wage, but that would barely cover childcare costs. no good.
