Still slow and dopey after rough go yesterday. Thankfully, thankfully I dropped the weight from inflammatory foods and a 1/2 lb as well. The constantly undereating what says are my Fitbit calories used, is working. My basal energy output is under what this site estimates so I go by the Fitbit and am getting good at adding up the exercise to match. I was looking at my history and just eyeballing it, it appears I'm about 400 calories under on average. If I don't move and be active this is extremely hard to achieve. Living on an acreage with constant "to do's" staring me in the face makes that very achievable in this season.

It's glorious outside with the birds, the flowers, the scents and sights. I just stand and stare at eagles soring, or a heron lifting off from the sleepy waterway beside us; listening to the bees and frogs along with the birdsongs. Now there are goslings and ducklings to keep an eye out for and count. The flowers are everywhere. I plant everything that overgrows in my flower garden or plant plant gifts, that are too invasive for the flowerbed, in the "ditch"; cast seeds I collect and grow and transplant wildflowers I start, because I can't get them to take otherwise. Now it is all paying off, there are drifts of flowers season after season. I only water until established the first year and whatever survives after that survives, and eventually spreads and thrives. I actually do a crazy amount of hand weeding in selected areas until the things I want are getting the upper hand. Since the banks are steep and uneven it means I'm doing lunges and squats a lot of the time; also trekking hundreds of feet with a wheelbarrow and shovel or gallons of water and carting things up and down the bank. I count it all joy because of the environment, and no one could ask for a more spectacular setting for a workout.

My husband got a new chainsaw. I want to get acquainted with that so that I can limb some of the trees I planted over a decade ago, to allow light and life underneath. Just need my energy back.
