I'm inching down and retaining the gains ( no, somehow, 'gains' is the wrong word when loss is the aim' Hmm, I need to come up with some self talk, with neurolinguistics in mind, that feeds into my goals). I'm happy to be going the right direction and feel this is sustainable. That's the biggest part for me - sustainable. The only piece I need to kick into high gear is consistent exercise. When I get a plan going I'm usually good at sticking to it. COVID-19 disrupted this for me as for almost all human life. So, at this age, gaining muscle mass back is a chore. Due to strains and imbalances I have to go carefully. My ab routine has to change completely, and stretching routine needs additions and amendments.
Paying attention to this, I intend to "age gracefully" which was my mother's byline. Funny, but it was my father who managed to age with better health. Her acceptance made her decent into age, and unfortunately dementia, graceful, as her sweet demeanor and humor stayed mostly intact. They both managed to surpass the 90 yr age mark.
