I concur w/Kenna Morton. Maybe YOU scared them away?! Was it a blind-date, 1st-time meet & greet date, or someone you actually met in-person b4? Hmmmm.... I would say, if you met them in-person, b4, then maybe, just maybe, they are/were intimidated by your ravenous-beauty?! Or, if you've never met this individual, but just viewed them on/in photos over internet, then, they're a phony & you'd better be really careful. There are too many loons out in this big universe & you don't need to be going out to meet someone you've never had any face-to-face contact w/anyways. Totally agree with Jheeden. People clearly meant no harm by making an assumption that applies to the vast majority of humans. If people don't feel like using the clunky "he/she" or the even weirder singular "they", they are not obligated to, no matter the year. To demand otherwise is to force people to use language you choose so that you can pretend their perspective fits your personal priorities and preferences. That's wrong.
