I am turning 60 in January 2016. Wow! Last time I looked I was 40. I have been heavy most of my adult life. I would have to say it started as emotional eating and then just became a habit. I am happily married with two wonderful children. Really not children any longer as my daughter is going to be married this summer and my son is finishing up university. I was diagnosed with Diabetes in 2008. My heaviest was 297 lbs. I never really took diabetes seriously as I did not fully understand what the disease was doing to my body. I think I have tried every DIET under the sun. Some with success and some not. I had a lapband 4 years ago, which ended up bringing me very close to death and had to have emergency surgery. That was two years ago. Since then, I have had amazing care from my doctors and I have finally started to lose weight healthily (is that a word?). I still struggle with Diabetic meds and my A1C but I am now down under 200. My main objective to to get healthy and fit through pure foods and exercise. I cannot remember a time I felt healthy. I am getting close though exercise is still my nemesis. With the help of my supportive family and friends I know this time I will make it. I have 50 lbs left to reach my goal. I would like to have it gone by the middle of July 2016, so I can dress shop for a Mother of the Bride dress. Here is to wearing a size 12 again.
