5/24 Fasting blood sugar is 7.2 mmol/L
And yes, I know what caused my spike. I was a bad, bad gal last night. I ate a few (under a cup) Sour Cream & Onion chips around 10pm. Yep, that would do it to me. Sighs. Oh well, it is what it is.
New day, new goals ;)

Dinner tonight consists of Pork Shoulder Steak with steak seasoning and Herb & Garlic Riced Cauliflower topped with salt & pepper, about 1 tbsp of the PEI butter & about 1 tsp of Parmesan Cheese. Yummy!

5/23 Fasting blood sugar 6.4 mmol/L
When you realize it's gonna be one of those sort of days...woke up 3 different times over the course of my sleep, went to make coffee but forgot to put the instant coffee in the mug, re-reading the carb level on my PC Poblano & Lime BBQ sauce and wtf?!? - another recipe I need to re-invent. Yup, gonna be one of those sort of days.
1st meal of the day is 2 homemade Scotch Eggs served with 1/2 serving of Poblano & Lime BBQ sauce and 1 tbsp of Cows Creamery Sea Salt Butter from PEI. I'm guessing on the ground beef used for it because I didn't measure...lol.

Tried a new pork sausage last night for dinner that my son had bought. It was okay but not something I would have bought. For it saying Southwest, I would have thought there would have been more bang as in flavours but it was disappointing not there. I mean Metro's Chorizo pork sausage has more flavour and none of the filler that Southwest had (black bean). My son had to douse his in lots of his hot sauce to make it edible for him and I had to dig out my mustard to try to enjoy it. And the fact they had to put dextrose in it makes me wonder about our food industry. But now that we've tried it we can safely say it will not grace our table again.
I had a convo with my bestie about how the food industry seems to want to put sugar or it's various variants into the food we buy. We both agree it's time we both start making most of our food from scratch to avoid what the food industry is doing to our foods. I think I am going to need to pick up a few more tools for my kitchen to do some of this stuff but it's time to experiment at home on various foods that seem to be all about keeping us fat.

Yup, clearly my mindset is some f*cked up as of late. Eventually I will get back on my path but for now I am just taking each day as it comes. Lack of sleep is the biggest issue of course which in turn messes with my fasting blood sugars - today 7.1 mmol/L & yesterday was higher...7.4 I think. Body hurts, brain won't shut off & the weather ain't helping. Damn rollercoaster!!! Just gonna be kind to myself and eventually, hopefully, things will settle down and I can get back to a more balanced state.
